The most misquoted verse in the Bible has got to be: “Money is the root of all evil.”
The verse actually reads: “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”
As the artist asks, “How many suicides” have been committed over money?
I’m also struck by the declaration that someone who has lost his savings in a bad investment or a market crash has “lost everything”. He has not lost everything. He has lost his money. In my experience, the less importance I put on money the more easily it comes to me.
How about you?
